Do you think other peoples’ life experiences are interesting and informative?
In the ERS recently we have heard about Street Pastors, a visit to Serbia, Australia. The suffering church; the stars the universe and us; MAF pilots. Different Christian people with varied interests to whom we are grateful for giving their time and opening our eyes to what God is doing today both locally and worldwide.
On the second of each month some fifty older folk meet at the Emmanuel Centre for a time of fellowship, fun and an interesting afternoon. Although we officially start at 3pm many come early to have a chat with their friends. After a brief introduction our speaker takes over. There is a break for tea and coffee before finishing by 4.30pm.
Our annual outing this year was to Finchingfield and Bury St. Edmund’s. In between times we have been on mini-outings to the Package Museum and the Royal Chelsea Pensioners’ Hospital and grounds.
Our aim is to run a good wholesome afternoon where church folk and others can find a friendly welcome and learn about the Lord Jesus in a relaxed atmosphere. The door to ERS is open to anyone who wants to come, ie you, your neighbours and friends.
